Do you have an interest in working outdoors doing gardening and handyperson activities? Volunteer Groundskeepers are responsible for ensuring the grounds of Community Facilities are kept in a well-maintained condition which contributes to buildings being welcoming to the community. The role includes general garden maintenance using tools such as lawn mower and edge trimmer, maintenance of equipment and the removal and disposal of garden and other waste.

We seek volunteers for our Bicycle Repair and Maintenance Program. Do you have good knowledge about bicycles and scooters? The Open House Bike Hut operates out of Malahang Reserve, West Heidelberg, and is a space for local park users to fix their bikes,  scooters  and skateboards.

Our organisation runs out of a house on an acreage property and is subject to real estate inspection every three months. Additionally, our President is allergic to dust and can't let too much dust pile up or else she gets sick. We need help with this so that the facility is spotless for those inspections and also for visitors who expect that a wildlife hospital is always in pristine condition!!

We are presently in an urban setting and need to clean up the weeds, mow the lawn regularly and try to enhance the property with shrubs to bring some nature to this bland backyard.

The role involves yard maintenance, planting, weeding, watering, other general gardening duties as well as providing social interaction to the homeowner.

Your gardening experience, or your willingness to learn new gardening skills, will be greatly appreciated in this role. You'll be working outdoors in a beautiful setting: planting, weeding, pruning and mulching as well as other garden related activities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule. The role requires a current Criminal Record Check and would prefer a current Working with Children Check.

Your ability and willingness to help this community organisation maintain their halls and premises will be highly valued in this role. You'll undertake tasks such as minor repairs to interior and external fittings, painting, general maintenance (e.g. changing lightbulbs, hanging pictures), and sometimes assist with cleaning and gardening, as required. A current Working with Children Check is required.

Help required on "as need basis" by client. The required help will include the maintenance of the client's car and the maintenance of the garden, lawn and footpaths.

Are you concerned about the amount of rubbish on our coastline? Adopt a Spot are recruiting volunteers to nominate an area of coastline to manage the removal of marine debris. Tasks will include daily cleans, collation of data (taking pictures of marine debris & reporting back on data via email or social media), disposal of materials in accordance with Local Council rubbish/recycling guidelines and provide community education in sustainable practices.

Do you have a love of trains? We are looking for versatile volunteers and have several different positions to fill: Driver / Guard / Signaller / Maintenance Crew and the Kiosk. In each of these positions you can also assist with roles such as customer service, public direction, ticket collection, signal operation, guard, maintenance crew etc. and eventually the elevation to 'Train Driver' for those who are interested.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with handling donated goods in preparation for sales of low cost items to the general community. This involves sorting, pricing and customer service with general cleaning.

Each Saturday from 12:30pm-1:30pm four dedicated volunteers help to pack down all the public seating, marquees and infrastructure that is used in the public spaces at the market. These areas are what sets our beautiful market apart from other markets, and gives us our true community feel. This role requires a moderate amount of manual handling including bending, lifting and moving marquee weights (up to 20kg)
