The Volunteers primary role is to assist the participants to ride a wave! Each participant has a different disability which can either be physical, intellectual or both. Disabled Surfers Association - SA Branch assist them to enjoy the experience of surfing & ensure they stay safe & injury free in the process. A surfing background is an advantage for volunteers but not essential. However you need to be a physically fit, aged 17+ & be comfortable in the water for periods of up to 2 hours.

The Volunteer Tutor Scheme is a program that helps migrants and refugees who are unable to attend AMEP English classes, with one on one lessons for 1 hour per week. Anyone can become a volunteer tutor, even if you’re not a native English speaker. All you need is confidence in English, access to transport and the desire to help others learn. Spectrum Space will run our Telethon Holidays Makers Program these July school holidays for children on the autism spectrum. Activities include art and craft, video games, sensory play, board games, cooking and more! We are in need of people to help out with the kids and the activities. This opportunity would best suit students studying psychology, community services, counselling and social work.
