The Volunteers primary role is to assist the participants to ride a wave! Each participant has a different disability which can either be physical, intellectual or both. Disabled Surfers Association - SA Branch assist them to enjoy the experience of surfing & ensure they stay safe & injury free in the process. A surfing background is an advantage for volunteers but not essential. However you need to be a physically fit, aged 17+ & be comfortable in the water for periods of up to 2 hours.

You will enable older clients who do not have transport to attend the groups for social connection, activities, morning tea and lunch. You will present a friendly and welcoming face to our clients and be supported by a paid staff member on the bus. There is minimal heavy lifting for this role and maximum positive contact with staff and clients.

Providing friendship and companionship to our Home Care Package and Residential Care recipients. Social visits - chatting and conversations over coffee or tea, short walks. Entertainment - Playing board games, card games and listening to music etc.
