The Volunteer Reading Helper assists children in practicing reading in the classroom at local schools. Just one hour a week can improve children's reading skills enormously. Watsonia Heights Primary School is seeking volunteers who can assist the school's Librarian with all aspects of the day to day running of the library. You will have a keen interest in children’s literature and be available during the school term in school hours. Experience with library systems and organisation such as cataloguing is desired but not essential.

Seeking lovers of books or organising wizards to volunteer in a primary school library for a minimum of few hours per week. Schools are often overburdened and under resourced. They rely heavily on the generosity of their local community members so that the children attending have a safe and congenial learning environment. As a Toy Librarian you will be required to oversee the borrowing and returning of toys, ensuring they are maintained in good condition and working order e.g. cleaning, changing batteries etc and assisting with the general 'smooth running' of the Library.
