Reading Helper in Schools
About this opportunity
As a Volunteer Reading Helper at Reading Friends Australia Ltd, you will help by performing the following duties: • Listen to children reading one by one or in groups • Provide guidance with pronunciation, emphasis, and comprehension • Encourage and praise children in their efforts • Cooperate with school staff and other volunteers as required

We are looking for a volunteer with the following skills, qualifications or experience to fill this volunteer role:
• ability to speak and read English
• a demonstrated interest in education and children wellbeing
• willingness to work with children with learning difficulties
• an understanding of issues of client confidentiality and the sensitive nature of child protection
• ability to follow directions
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• experience working with children a plus
1 hour per week during school hours, more if you wish. Flexible hours.
