Volunteers play a vital role in helping St Mary’s House of Welcome (SMHOW) achieve its mission and provide invaluable support across many areas of the organisation. The purpose of the Kitchen Service Volunteer role is to prepare and serve food for the SMHOW service users so that they can enjoy a nutritious meal which they otherwise may not be able to access.

Provide meals for all camp participants. The Variety Adventure Camp is for teenagers with a mild to moderate disability. Camp dates are 29 June to 6 July 2024 and will be held at Goanna Park 90kl south of Darwin on the Arnhem Highway. There is a fully equipped kitchen and accommodation is provided

Assisting in the preparation and service of food to our high school students.

Homebase HOOPS is a 4-6 week (during school terms), evening basketball tournament for youth in the Mildura and surrounding region. Supported by local community organisations & volunteers. Homebase HOOPS is a fun, safe & supported activity for youth. The idea is not competitive, but to ensure everyone has an enjoyable night and gets a turn on court. As a volunteer at SCHS, you will be working with the youth of Mildura to assist with the HOOPS program.

Volunteers come on any week day from 9.30am to 2 pm to help prepare and serve food for the school’s recess and lunch breaks.
