Urban Angels are trying to recruit more volunteers to participate in both our regular Mon-Fri meal deliveries and our weekend hot meal deliveries to homeless people. We are trying to find people who are available on various mornings and afternoons.

The Capel Regional Equestrian Park has been successful in securing funding from CSRFF and the Shire of Capel to build a new multi-sports pavilion. We now need to source additional funding to finalise the project. The role will be to oversee the building of the new premises and manage the distribution of the sponsorship package to businesses within the region, and then follow up the prospective sponsors. A spreadsheet of all businesses approached will need to be maintained.

Would you like to help facilitate the coffee shop? Juniors have started a coffee shop at the sailing Club between 8:00 and 10:00 am on a Saturday morning. Moreton Bay Region Visitor Information Centres are located across the region at Bribie, Redcliffe, Samford, Caboolture and Woodford and are open 7 days a week from 9am - 4pm. Volunteers are the welcoming ambassadors for the centres and mostly do a 4 hour shift once a week. Our volunteers enjoy promoting the Moreton Bay region and helping visitors with directions, maps, information and guides. We also offer opportunities for volunteers to be tour guides.

St John's Phone Coordinators work as part of a rostered team. While on shift, Phone Coordinators are responsible for dispatching the local volunteer ambulance crew as required. Phone Coordinators do not take 000 calls, but are contacted by the central St John's Communications Team with relevant information for incidents.

When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.
