A general volunteer to care for our gardening tools. Maintenance and stock control of all the varied gardening tools on our Inventory. In the first instance we need someone to care for our hand tools, forks and spades etc, but in addition someone to care for our power tools, lawn mowers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers etc.

Help keep the garden at St John of God Hospital looking fresh. Our volunteers are involved in the maintenance of the outside building. The generosity of our volunteers’ time makes a huge difference to how a person feels coming, staying, and going. When you volunteer with us, you are making a meaningful contribution to your community and to families in the Midwest area.

This position will suit a person who's contented to work alone, who enjoys being outside in the fresh air and working in a peaceful environment. This role would also suit a person who has a love for nature and gardening. If you are someone who finds satisfaction in keeping everything looking nice, a way to keep fit and healthy, this is the role for you. Days and Times are flexible to suit the Volunteer!

Community Nursery Assistants support the propagation of local provenance native plants for re-vegetation of the local environment within the City of Greater Geraldton. Many and varied tasks are available, depending on the time of season. Duties include seed collecting, seed sorting, decontaminating benches / pots, pricking plants and propagation. Our reservoir reserves are home to beautiful landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Join a group of like-minded people and help nurture these special places. You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors. Activities include bushcare, revegetation, habitat improvement, biodiversity surveys (e.g. birds, frogs, plants), fish stocking and supporting community events.

Commitment is bi-monthly for 2hour daytime meetings. BDEC engages with government, community agencies, and the public in order to encourage the preservation of the natural environment in the local area. They undertake a number of practical and administrative initiatives.
