Marine Rescue NSW saves lives on the water, providing 24-hour emergency response, returning thousands of boaters in trouble safely to shore every year. Our Radio Operators provide a vital service for commercial and recreational watercraft along the NSW coastline, using the state’s only public marine radio network.

Consider this exciting and rewarding role by joining this local, volunteer-run, emergency service team by monitoring and operating the Marine Radio for sea rescue purposes. Radio Operators keep ongoing computer logs of outgoing boats and operates radio to respond to situations. Albany Sea Rescue are looking for volunteers to operate a 2 way radio and computer to talk to mariners who call in when going fishing. They operate 24 hours/7 days per week, with 3 shifts per day. Training will be provided. Will need to sit and pass a National Radio Competency exam.
