An opportunity for those who love model/miniature railways. We have a 7 ¼” gauge railway around the grounds that is available to visitors most days we are open. We have 3 locomotives (Steam, petrol, hydraulic). We are looking for someone who will be a practical leading-hand for this museum activity: From driving to track-work. The line has opportunities for development and a range of projects are possible with the right person to take the lead.

Intermediate Emergency Care Provider Being the person or persons to respond to any medical/first aid needs off and on the track during a race meeting. These race meetings are held during the weekend. Some are two day events.

We are looking for a Board Treasurer with good financial skills and experience that have been used in business or in the community. A dedicated person interested in volunteering 2 days per week. Be part of re-creating living Tasmanian railway history for the benefit of the region.

Rare opportunity to train as a Heritage Rail Guard with a long-established Heritage Railway Society in Devonport. Guards are in charge of the train and passengers whilst the train is running. Persons with great people skills are invited to train and become Railway Guards at Don River Railway, and if you like, go on to train as Train Drivers.
