MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

Do you enjoy connecting and helping people? With our ongoing redevelopments, it is sometimes intimidating for our visitors to find where they need to go within the hospital or to offsite outpatient clinic locations. Our Guiding Volunteers provide visitors with practical assistance helping alleviate those feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed helping them to get to their appointment on time or find a friend or relative.

Do you love the open road? Do you love to meet new people and want to stay active and engaged in your community? Guide Dogs Tasmania is looking for volunteers that would like to be a part of their collection dog program. Each year significant funds are raised through the collection program that support vital services for Tasmanians who are living with low vision, disability and Illness.
This role is for those with an eye for detail who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Duties include maintaining the appearance or our iconic collection dog donation tins, washing them with soapy water, replacing damaged stickers and security chain. Volunteers support the collection dog volunteer driver role by ensuring there is enough clean mini dog collection tins to be used on the following weeks scheduled collection run.
