Volunteers for Riding for the Disabled Association Centres - South (Glenorchy)

Disability Services Regular - more than 6 months Glenorchy TAS

About this opportunity

In particular, we are seeking volunteers to assist our coaches each Tuesday and/or Thursday during the school term. All training is provided and you would be helping out with preparing horses for our riders and assisting our coaches on the arena (or on trail rides) during lessons.

We sometimes require volunteers on other days of the week who would be interested in helping out with the day-to-day maintenance of our horses and facilities. Or volunteers happy to do paddock maintenance on Tuesdays or Thursdays and rake up manure and branches out of the horses' paddocks whilst the horses are out and being used in the program. (See these relevant ads on volunteer website for more information.)

PLEASE NOTE: RDA is required to train and accredit volunteers prior to engaging them in their duties. Our next training day for volunteers assisting in our program hasn't been decided yet. Please register your interest. Attendance of training days is a requirement. If you are interested in volunteering in our program, please visit our centre on a Tuesday or Thursday during school term to see our program in action and find out what is involved in volunteering with RDA. Please contact us if you are interested in visiting us and to register for our upcoming training days.

Volunteers wanting to assist with paddock maintenance do not require to attend the above-mentioned training days and are welcome to come any Tuesday or Thursday during school term between 8am - 2pm to receive a short induction training before getting started with their duties.

Please do contact us prior so we know we can expect you.
