The Hyland House Respite Centre in Petrie is looking for people to assist older persons and people with a disability in maintaining our lovely centre garden. This includes potting and watering plants and chatting about their upkeep. No special skills are needed, just patience and an interest in gardening.

Scouting engages and inspires young people aged 5 - 25 to develop confidence, resilience and leadership skills. Our adult leaders support this journey and develop life-changing skills along the way. We have a variety of volunteering opportunities available for adults who are up for some outdoor fun and adventure. Training and support will be provided, including access to formal qualifications in business, leadership and outdoor recreation.

As the Volunteer and Staff Coordinator for the Big Love Festival 2024 (Chenrezig Institute 26-28th September 2024), you’ll be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and staff to support the successful execution of the event. You’ll ensure all festival volunteers and staff are equipped with the necessary resources and information to fulfil their roles effectively, contributing to a positive and memorable experience for festival attendees.

We are a fully volunteer run not-for-profit organisation. Just like a normal library but for toys instead of books! Formed in 2016, our volunteers get to experience a beautiful ever-changing view and lovely breezes while they contribute their time in the garden beds. Meeting on Tuesdays the Sandpipers work along the Esplanade, Pioneer Cemetery and other high-profile green spaces in the CBD to support Council in keeping our gardens looking spick and span. The Sandpipers group volunteers on Tuesday mornings from 9am to noon.

Scouts provides young Aussies with fun and challenging opportunities to grow through adventure. The Scout Movement encourages the development of young people so they take a constructive place in communities by through gaining life skills, self-confidence and independence. Kennedy Region Scouts have opportunities on the team who provide support to the program activities.
