City of Melville are seeking several friendly people to drive groups on outings for either one or both vehicles on a regular or occasional basis. We can offer flexibility if that is what you are looking for or a regular opportunity to be a volunteer driver.

Volunteer required to pack food care parcels, manage our food parcel distribution Centres and deliver food parcels to the community. May include occasionAl fundraising e.g. Bunnings Sizzle etc.

General Volunteers operate in departments within the hospital based on their experience and/or interest. The volunteers will carry out a range of activities designed to support patients and their visitors during their stay at the hospital. A volunteer has the opportunity to have a more ongoing interaction with a particular ward or clinical service

The group of volunteers, called 'The Friends' are like minded people of all ages and backgrounds who "like to help". Friendships are formed. Often it is found all that is needed is a sympathetic ear and words of encouragement and cheer. To allay the apprehension of those who find strangeness and loneliness in their new hospital surroundings, the volunteers visit inpatients, escort new patients and visitors to appointments, provide comfort, always with a kind word or gesture and good cheer.

A great opportunity to help people engage in the community and avoid social isolation - a problem experienced by so many seniors in our communities. Clients are picked up at their homes and head out for a day of fun at a special venue or event, or just a trip out for lunch!
