The MSWA Step Up is a unique stair-climbing event that sees our participants climb Perth’s tallest building while raising awareness and vital funds to help support Western Australians living with neurological conditions. Come and join us at Central Park in the Perth CBD, as we cheer on and support our 2024 climbers.

General Volunteers operate in departments within the hospital based on their experience and/or interest. The volunteers will carry out a range of activities designed to support patients and their visitors during their stay at the hospital. A volunteer has the opportunity to have a more ongoing interaction with a particular ward or clinical service

The Old Central Fire Station in Perth's historic Murray Street East precinct is home to the DFES Heritage Collection. The Collection helps to tell the cultural and technological history of the fire and rescue services in our State. Our Behind-the-Scenes Team assist in the auditing of the Collection and maintenance of entries in the database.

The group of volunteers, called 'The Friends' are like minded people of all ages and backgrounds who "like to help". Friendships are formed. Often it is found all that is needed is a sympathetic ear and words of encouragement and cheer. To allay the apprehension of those who find strangeness and loneliness in their new hospital surroundings, the volunteers visit inpatients, escort new patients and visitors to appointments, provide comfort, always with a kind word or gesture and good cheer.

Beep Beep! Work within a team to provide meals and refreshments for Emergency Workers. We are seeking a reliable person with a MR licence or higher to drive our Catering Truck. The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) play a critical role in supporting the needs of disaster affected people and the State’s first responders during times of disaster and emergency.

The Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation is located at the Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands. Our Donation Tin Program is a key source of fundraising with all proceeds helping to ensure we continue to provide world-class healthcare to WA’s sick kids. Tins are hosted by businesses throughout the Perth metropolitan area to seek donations from customers frequenting the business.

The Voluntary Transport team is a lifeline for patients who have no other way of getting to our hospital. Our team picks up and drops off patients at Royal Perth Hospital. We also help patients to get from the Voluntary Transport vehicle to their appointment in the hospital building. We are always looking for new volunteers. As the Learning and development Officer you will be responsible for developing and implementing a program of work aligned to the G2K’s Training Strategy and Plan to build best practice in training and competency. Researchers at NeuRA and UNSW are recruiting for a study to determine if Virtual Reality Walking is effective as a treatment for complete Spinal Cord Injury neuropathic pain. The treatment is home-based so people living anywhere in Australia can participate. Participants can receive a total of $200 for completing all trial activities. All VR equipment is provided!

A Consumer Advisor is a member of our community who can voice a lived experience of health care at Western Health. They participate in committees, focus groups, projects and a range of other activities to ensure the patient perspective is always considered.
