Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking a regular volunteer to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.

Your basic sewing machine skills, or willingness to learn, will be useful in this role sewing wildlife rescue pouches and basket liners. Only straight line sewing, and patterns are cut along straight lines. All equipment is provided. Pouches and liners are sewn to specific sizes and designs and are given to local wildlife carers as needed. Timing is flexible - between 8am and 1pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Share your love of music with our residents who are living with dementia. Join us at our residential aged care home as a musician, singer, entertainer, or dancer. We welcome a range of musical styles, from classical, jazz, country, rock'n'roll and popular hits from the 1930's onwards. Duties include checking and cleaning returned toys and counting pieces if needed, organising shelves and displays, labelling new toys and setting up and packing away before and after sessions. The Role involves welcoming members and volunteers attending the toy library, assisting members with questions, providing guidance in finding suitable toys and assisting with new members.

To boost our ability to process, retain, and recall information, we would love to bring in a Visual Note-Taker/Graphic Recorder to capture the gold nuggets in every session and our learnings as a group. Some of our staff based in Asia-Pacific will be joining us, so this training will be held online.

We are looking at doing a number of quite short video's (sub 10 minutes) where we will be going deep in a particular area of interest.
