The Helping Hand Project is a community-based organisation. Our vision is to provide youth of refugee background with supportive Mentors, so that they can achieve their goals and reach their dreams.

What does a Live-In Mentor do? As a Live-In Mentor within our Inside Out program, you will reside in a comfortable and well-maintained property alongside another Mentor and 1-2 young people that are seeking to transition into independent living. The benefits include free housing and paid household bills (inc. Netflix and Wi-Fi).

As a Pyjama Angel , you will visit a child in foster care for 1 hour each week, to help with learning, life-skills and confidence. This one on one time has a profound impact on a child and also helps to support Foster Carers in your community. Over time, you will become a trusted mentor in your child's life, being a constant source of encouragement. If you would like to help a foster child achieve their dreams, we would love to hear from you!
