Inclusion Melbourne is a participant in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS); a national program that aims to enrich the quality of life of older people and enhance their social connectedness. As a volunteer, you will be making a real difference by: • Spending time with participants engaged in shared interest activities • Providing companionship and support • Reducing the social isolation and loneliness experienced by some older people.

JoCare understands that technology can help stave off loneliness and can enrich an older person’s life by opening up communication with family, grandchildren, community events, online courses, online meetings and can provide another avenue for regular contact. JoCare Digital Mentors provide support to older people in a group setting where volunteers have the support of other mentors. You do not need to be an expert, just enjoy the benefits of technology. Each Tuesday we take a minivan full of seniors to locations around Melbourne for a day out with friends. The role includes picking up and dropping off clients from their homes, driving to and from the destination and having fun along the way. We offer a popular weekly lunch with a three-course meal of soup, main and dessert, which changes weekly depending on ingredients and the occasion. We're looking for someone with kitchen experience to volunteer each Wednesday from 11am-2pm. The role involves food preparation and plating food. You'll be working with a small team of kitchen and dining volunteers and the program coordinator.
