Lifeline Canberra exists to support people in crisis and save the lives of those experiencing thoughts of suicide. Our Telephone Crisis Support Volunteers are essential in making a difference in the lives of Canberrans who call 13 11 14.

Are you interested in working as a volunteer telephone counsellor? Do you have a counselling qualification and, preferably, previous experience in the community sector? Then this is the position for you!

All donations of baby and kids items are checked for quality, safety, cleanliness and appropriateness before being distributed to families in need. The volunteer role involves thoroughly checking clothes, toys, linen and books, cleaning them when needed and packing into gift packs, and thoroughly cleaning larger items such as prams, bassinets, car seats and high chairs.

Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. You can volunteer as a marshal, timekeeper, photographer or try your hand at scanning barcodes and handing out tokens…..to name a few of the roles we have available.
