Donation quality checker, sorter and packer

About this opportunity

Roundabout Canberra is a volunteer powered charity – our volunteers undertake a range of tasks including:

• Sorting donated baby and kids’ clothing, toys, linen and books to check for quality and safety
• Creating packs of clothes, linen, toiletries, toys, books or school backpacks to be gifted to kids and families in need
• Cleaning donated prams, car seats, high chairs and other baby equipment in preparation for safety checking
• Sewing or crafting items to include in packs (such as toy or library bags).

Volunteers are welcome to stick to one or two tasks or to try their hand at any that sound interesting.

Note that the volunteer role does not include any direct interactions with families receiving items or packs.

Covid-19 vaccination .

Volunteer sessions are run throughout the week with sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10am - 1pm, Saturdays 1 - 4pm and fortnightly Sundays 10:30am - 1pm. We do not require a regular commitment - volunteers are welcome to attend whenever they want to and to stay for any amount of time.

Training is provided during induction as well as ongoing on the job training
