Animal Care Volunteers assist with providing care, rehabilitation and enrichment to animals. Our animal care volunteers will interact with animals using positive reinforcement animal handling techniques, learning skills from our experienced team members. Whilst providing support and care to our animals, our volunteers will also positively engage with customers ensuring they receive an engaging and educational experience.

Gardening & Maintenance Volunteers are key to assisting the RSPCA South Australia team in maintaining their outdoor grounds, plants and trees. Their team performs a range of general maintenance tasks, performs routine inspections of premises and equipment. Working with tools and basic light machinery performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs, prepare walls and other surfaces for painting etc.

Would you like to assist in preparing horses for lessons, leading horses in the lessons & working with riders with disabilities? If you like horses & are keen to help disabled people enjoy the thrill of riding a horse then this is the volunteer role is for you! Hooded Plovers are small coastal shorebirds. Listed as vulnerable nationally, there are less than 800 of these birds in South Australia with only 22 breeding pairs found on the Fleurieu Peninsula. There are multiple ways that you can assist to protect these birds. Fleurieu Hoodie Helpers are needed to monitor a given pair of birds on a particular beach and report sightings of bird behaviour.
