The Hyland House Respite Centre in Petrie is looking for people to assist older persons and people with a disability in maintaining our lovely centre garden. This includes potting and watering plants and chatting about their upkeep. No special skills are needed, just patience and an interest in gardening.

Leigh Place is seeking a volunteer bus driver with an HR licence for 2/3 monthly outings, mainly on Thursday or Friday. Volunteers make an incredible contribution to residents' health and well-being, avoiding social isolation, anxiety and depression.

Are you someone who enjoys being outdoors and has knowledge of basic gardening and an interest in planting out raised garden beds? Do you enjoy social conversation and would like to support others to enjoy gardening activities on a weekly basis? Would you like to support older people to plant, water, weed, chat and notice the changes in the garden? We have raised garden beds and all equipment ready for you to enjoy.

A short visit can make an older person’s day. We are seeking a volunteer visitors to befriend older people around Melbourne. All you need is to be kind, empathetic and willing to give one hour per fortnight (or more if you'd prefer). The role is rewarding, flexible and will help to improve the wellbeing of people experiencing social isolation.
