Love the outdoors and walking? Why not help maintain walking trails and join in other environmental projects? Help in a variety of tasks such as planting, nestbox monitoring, fencing, weed control and anything else that helps maintain the walking trails! Enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, either on weekdays or other times depending on current projects.

Gardener-Do you have a green thumb? A gardener is required to assist in the upkeep of a small community garden.

Friends of Banksia Park Volunteers are required to show some tender loving care to park trees at Banksia Park in Normanville and assist with replanting.

The Nixon Skinner Conservation Park comprises of 8 hectares of native vegetation and is situated towards the southern end of the Myponga Reservoir. The park is an island of native vegetation in a picturesque setting, framed by the Myponga Reservoir and pine plantations. Working bees are held on the first Friday of each month commencing at 9.00 am.

This event lets you experience life as a ranger, and assist our local conservation experts with important wildlife monitoring – check and re-set wildlife traps, collect data on captured animals and help release the Eastern Barred Bandicoot's back into the wild.

Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!

Want to do hands-on work that actually helps the environment? Our nursery grows indigenous plants for revegetation projects and local gardeners. This increases habitat for our wildlife and helps biodiversity. We'd love you to join us to help with maintenance tasks around the nursery and maintaining our facilities. Work at a time or frequency that suits you! We're a very friendly group and morning tea/coffee is provided!

You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors.
