Meals on Wheels deliver meals to older people and people with disabilities living in the Parramatta LGA on week day mornings. Drivers are responsible for driving to our Hunter Street office then to customers homes with a helper. Volunteers will need to have a full licence and own comprehensively insured car. Using your own vehicle, assist those in the community who can't drive due to illness or circumstance get out for medical appointments, funerals, shopping, exercise, social connection. Some drives may be only 100 metres and some as far as 100 kms. Drivers are never asked to do more than they are comfortable with. Some reimbursement is available to cover petrol costs. Drivers are kept connected with a newsletter and monthly morning teas.
