In 2022 Open House launched a social enterprise café called Whispers, with the aim to empower people who have faced disadvantage and been excluded from work opportunities. We are currently seeking volunteers to assist in our cafe.

Hotham Mission seeks in person volunteers in North Melbourne to support our young women's program, a weekly gathering for young women aged around 16-25. This program aims to develop leadership skills and embrace community while trying out fun activities. Our program is participant-led, free and operates both online and face-to-face.

The Emergency Relief Food Pantry rescues food and prepares food parcels for disadvantaged members of the local community. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the collection of food, and the packing and distribution of these food parcels on weekdays from 9am - 1pm. Help is also needed after those hours on some days to receive & unpack/store rescued food (e.g, 10am - 2pm, or 12pm - 4pm.) Some moderate to heavy lifting will be required, and drivers will need a clean driver's licence.

General Volunteers are needed to assist with Events and Festivals We have many annual, as well as one off events that we need volunteer participation. eg; Australia Day Event etc.

We support people experiencing homelessness, economic hardship and social isolation. Hartley's offers lunch on weekdays year-round, and Breakfast from April-September. The dining room has seating for up to 50 customers and has an outdoor courtyard area.

Do you speak Italian - we would love to meet you! At MiCare, we don't want anybody to be lonely. We are looking for female volunteer who can speak Italian to spend some quality time with an elderly lady who lives in Avondale Heights. Your visit may be spent reminiscing about the good old days and family, celebrating Italian festivities while sitting around having a cuppa or enjoying a leisurely activity like going for a short walk, do a puzzle, read Italian stories etc.

Welcome consumers with referrals for a food parcel from Uniting Wodonga. Food given according to instruction on the food voucher referral form. • On food delivery days, assist other volunteers to restack shelves from delivered pallets. • Assist with keeping the centre clean and tidy. • Maintain records of consumer food parcels according to the system in place.
