Exciting Volunteer position supporting young people 10-14 years old

Stroke Recovery Clubs/Groups are a meeting place for people to share their knowledge and experiences of Stroke. They are an excellent source of companionship for individuals affected by Stroke including family and carers and are coordinated and managed by members of the group.

To bring joy, social and cultural connection to an older man by visiting in his residential home. Approximately an hour weekly/fortnightly at a time to suit both of you. Volunteering under the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme you will make a difference in the life of an older person by helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation improve their overall wellbeing.

We're looking for a community spirited person who is interested in giving back to others. In this role, you will co-chair a support group dedicated to the carers, family and friends of people who live with pain. You will work with you co-chair to create a safe, private and inclusive environment that helps carers prioritise their needs. The group meets monthly online.

The Open Support Community Companion Program offers one to one phone calls to people experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness. This volunteer role offers companionship and social support based on the Open Support values of Compassion, Dignity, Excellence, Justice and Unity.
