The Foster Care Children’s Village Project is a 2 year pilot program funded through the Anthony Costa Foundation. It's vision is to enhance the experience of vulnerable children and young people in Meli’s Out of Home Care. Our volunteer Villager's play a vital role.

We are currently looking to expand our team of drivers and helpers who are responsible for safely transporting children to and from school or day care facilities on a regular basis throughout the school term.

We are looking for driving mentors for young novice drivers aged 16 to 25 who have barriers to completing their 50 'log book' hours to obtain their driver's license. A caring and non-judgmental approach and an ability to build a positive rapport whilst promoting safe road use are vital. A car is provided

Become a volunteer with your local Department for Child Protection & you could experience one of the most rewarding things to do for yourself & also for the children and young people you will assist and support. Driving a child or young person to a health appointment or singing lesson, shopping for a new bike or pair of boots, playing netball, football or other sports, doing artwork or music are some of the things you may assist with whilst using a government vehicle. No qualification needed.
