Come join our seniors bus trips to promote social interactions and explore the local community. However they need a bus driver (car licence) to get them on the roads – could this be you?
Connect with an older person in your community who is feeling isolated and lonely, to break those feelings and create lasting friendships. Engage in ongoing visits to the individual’s residence, whether that be their personal home, or space in a Residential Aged Care.
Provide companionship to an isolated senior. Through sharing your time, you will share their life journey. Be matched to an older person who is feeling isolated. You will help to improve their sense of self-esteem, and community connectedness. All it takes is up to two hours per week. Provide social support and companionship to a person aged 65 years and above. You will help to ease feelings of social isolation and brighten their day!
Connect with an elderly member of the community who is feeling isolated. Volunteers engage in ongoing visits in the individual’s home or an aged care facility. You will build a meaningful friendship; help reduce feelings of loneliness and encourage a social connection!
Support the frail aged and elderly guests who visit genU’s Day Respite Centre. Assist our guests to take part in leisure activities. By supporting our Respite Program, you are helping our clients to remain living in their own home and increasing their social interactions. Bite sized shifts are available during business hours in a supportive group setting.
Are you passionate about cooking and making a positive impact in the lives of others? This is your opportunity to bring your passion to our cooking program, exclusively designed for independent older people aged 65 years and above!
Do you enjoy staying active and value the company of walking with others? Join our Allied Health Walking Groups, and not only will you enhance your fitness, but you’ll also make a positive impact in your local community.
Come support our Chair Yoga classes tailored for our older genU clients! Our classes integrate gentle stretching, breathing and yoga principles through gentle chair-based yoga, practiced sitting on a chair or standing supported by a chair.
Our outdoor group and community group exercise program has been created as a space for over 65s to enjoy the physical, social and mental health benefits of staying active. Run by our Allied health team, clients participate in a ‘circuit’ based program, utilising the equipment to help improve flexibility, strength, balance and coordination. Help to provide additional support for our clients and staff, ensuring all participants are feeling welcome!
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Our volunteer program supports people from all ages, backgrounds and abilities including people with disability, people who are socially isolated and seniors in aged care. We match you to a volunteering role based on your passions, skills and local area. You can make a difference in the community!
