Volunteers play a vital role in helping St Mary’s House of Welcome (SMHOW) achieve its mission and provide invaluable support across many areas of the organisation. The purpose of the Kitchen Service Volunteer role is to prepare and serve food for the SMHOW service users so that they can enjoy a nutritious meal which they otherwise may not be able to access.

Our Ten Pin Bowling program has over 100 registered athletes and approximately 80-90 bowl regularly at our monthly bowling sessions. Our bowling program currently runs on the last Sunday morning of each month, in Forest Hill. We are looking for Lane Managers to work on an assigned lane and support and direct athletes when bowling.

Support for people who are experiencing homelessness. Offer support, maintain facilities, cleaning.

Do you love to fish? Fishability is looking for volunteers who love fishing and who enjoy helping others to develop independence and experience the excitement of catching a fish. Experience with fishing is not necessary, but all volunteers must have a positive and empathetic nature. Great volunteer opportunity for a retired person. Commitment is required. May not be suitable for job seekers.

To assist in the provision of accurate and up to date information on supports services, service referral pathways and other relevant community information. Operating within the Centre’s policies, procedures and standards and the relevant Government Legislation, Laws and Acts.

Do you have a love for the outdoors, particularly fishing or boating, but more importantly do you enjoy assisting others to participate in the community? Fishability are looking for volunteers to help people with special needs / disabilities experience the joy of catching a fish! The program runs every Friday morning from 9:30am to 11:30 at Emu Point. We are looking for females too, our only female volunteer feels out numbered.
