Australian Refugee Volunteers (ARV) is an entirely volunteer-run non-religious and apolitical organisation that runs exciting programs for children from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds in Sydney. Our excursions are a mix of fun and developmental activities that give our clients skills and confidence whilst allowing them to just be kids for the day! Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. As a volunteer you would be making a difference to the lives of those who have been sleeping rough. Being able to listen, show care and treat our guests with dignity and compassion is what we ask for.

Can you help to heat up meals, serve meals or do dishes? Chat with guests and share a meal with them. Our guests are isolated or financially disadvantaged people who need some extra support with meals and being with community.
