The recipient speaks Arabic and English and was a mechanical engineer who lectured at University prior to retiring Can you spare some time once per week/fortnight for 1 hour visit to help her smile? Thai speaking volunteer visitor needed to visit socially and culturally isolated lady living in an aged care facility. She is unable to converse with anyone as there are no Thai speakers at this facility. Loves to singalong to Thai music and watch Thai movies. Gentle strolls outside in the garden. We have two lovely ladies in need of companionship at an aged care facility in Burwood and in her own home in Croydon. Do you have experience with Dementia? Do you enjoy spending time with the elderly? The resident at the aged care home would love to have a companion to talk to, hand massages and listen to music. She is bedbound and lonely. The other lady lives in her own home and is very lonely. She is 92 and would love to chat over a cuppa.

These residents are socially and culturally isolated and would benefit greatly from regular contact by a visitor/friend. Regular contacts or visits have a positive impact in reducing social isolation and improving the well-being of the resident.
