One hour, once a week or fortnight is all it takes to be a friend to someone who is lonely. This volunteer role offers flexibility and reward for both the volunteer and recipient of visits. MS Plus is funded to provide the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). The role of a Volunteer Visitor is to provide friendship to older people living in Aged Care or living in their own home.

We are looking for Volunteer Visitors interested in spending time with individual residents or a small group of residents to give gentle hand massages and apply colour to nails. No experience is necessary, and all products are supplied. 

Elderly people living in Residential Aged Care Homes in St Ives and Manly Vale LGAs would like a volunteer to visit the for around an hour on a weekly or fortnightly basis either chatting over a cuppa, playing board games, reading magazine or books, or going for a walk to a local cafe or park. If you speak another language, such as Tibetan, German, or Serbian etc would be helpful but is not mandatory.
