YPRL is seeking a new **Reading Dogs team** to join Thomastown Library. Our Reading Dogs program promotes children’s literacy by having children read aloud to dogs at the library. Our mission is to make reading fun and enjoyable for children so that they become confident and lifelong readers. Reading Dogs are accredited companion animals who volunteer with their owner/handler as a team by facilitating reading sessions. Fair Trade & Gift Shop have a very large selection of books, both in the shop and online. We need volunteers who can match the books with an excel spread sheet, so we know what we have. This is a short-term volunteer assignment that can be done with friends! Candidates with a passion for reading English books and strong reading and writing skills in English are encouraged to apply.
