This bushcare group is supported by Lane Cove National Park and Macquarie University. It meets on the third Saturday morning of each month so our next date will be February 17. Work is along Mars Creek, a hidden gem of the Lane Cove National Park and involves removing weeds so that native plants will regenerate, improving the biodiversity of the park.

Lane Cove National Park has a thriving Bushcare Program running under the supervision of a National Parks Bushcare Coordinator. There are groups currently working on different days, from every week to once a month, and they welcome new members. Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!

Our reservoir reserves are home to beautiful landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Join a group of like-minded people and help nurture these special places. You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors. BeachPatrol & Love Our Street litter collection volunteer groups operate in 40+ postcodes. Groups meet monthly to pick up litter from local beaches, streets or parks and meet like-minded people who are passionate about preserving our environment, wildlife, marine life & ecosystems. The groups log their data in the LitterStopper app, which feeds into the DEECA LitterWatch database. We advocate for changes to reduce litter, raise awareness & support the government in tackling issues.
