YPRL is seeking a new **Reading Dogs team** to join Thomastown Library. Our Reading Dogs program promotes children’s literacy by having children read aloud to dogs at the library. Our mission is to make reading fun and enjoyable for children so that they become confident and lifelong readers. Reading Dogs are accredited companion animals who volunteer with their owner/handler as a team by facilitating reading sessions. Pets of Older Persons (POOP's WA) is an incorporated non-profit association staffed entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers provide a range of services including home visits, animal feeding, dog walking and transport to/from vet clinics or boarding kennels. POOP's cater specifically for people over 65 years of age - or palliative-care patients of any age - who have no relatives or friends willing or able to take responsibility for their pets in times of need.
