Gardener-Do you have a green thumb? A gardener is required to assist in the upkeep of a small community garden.

Expertise to assist on website updates/redesign would also be favourable. Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!

DDEC is looking for a web design and IT skilled worker to help us set up a new website and transition our database over to a more affordable platform. This is a project that will take a volunteer a bit of time each week over a few months to complete. This will help our organisation improve our environmental campaigns and save money on our IT costs.

Want to help restore our native bushland? Bassendean Preservaton Group (BPG) is a local community bushcare group. We are looking for volunteers to help out at our native plant nursery in Ascot on Wednesday mornings, on a regular basis. Also to help out with bushland plantings on occasional weekend mornings throughout the year, mostly in winter. We plant around the Bassendean area, mostly around the foreshore and wetland areas. You are welcome to come on either Wednesdays, weekends, or both.
