The volunteer visits the parents home to provide parenting support for the families. The volunteer provides practical help (holding/playing with the baby), friendly support and encouragement in a non judgemental manner. Anyone can become a volunteer tutor, even if you’re not a native English speaker. All you need is confidence in English, access to transport and the desire to help others learn. You will be helping people to access basic services and connect with the community, thereby having a huge impact on their ability to settle in Australia.
