Down syndrome Victoria runs a social group for adults with Down syndrome, we’re called Club21. Club21 has been going in Melbourne for over 10 years and we are very excited to bring Club21 to Geelong! Pets for Life Volunteers provide practical support as guided by the owner in the care of their companion animal. The role is two-fold in that while assisting to maintain the animal’s welfare, volunteers will also be interacting with and become a support/contact for the older person. Isolation of the older person will be dramatically reduced through the volunteer visits and interaction around the animal’s care.

The volunteer will support the group facilitators with the weekly hosting of parent gatherings. This group aims to engage isolated families and encourage network building!
