for SchoolKits for Congo (RAOAF Project) - Community Services
SchoolKits for Congo seek Student Advocates to invite their own school communities to engage in meaningful and rewarding global giving. Advocates will present the program to decision-makers, show them the positive impact that involvement can have on both givers and receivers, and connect them with the resources necessary to complete the first gift cycle. Advocates may also assist with local publicity for the event. Advocates may be current school students or recent graduates.
for Mercy Connect Perth (Supported by Volunteer Melville!) - Migrant Services
Mercy Connect engages trained volunteers, with an educational background, to provide additional support and mentoring to asylum seeker, refugee, humanitarian visa students at a critical time in their settlement in Australia. Families from asylum seeker, refugee and/or humanitarian backgrounds are supported through improving their children’s capacity to negotiate the challenges of mainstream schooling and integrate into the wider Australian community.

Can you spare 1-2 hours per week supporting migrants and refugees to learn English and settle in Australia? The AMEP Volunteer Tutor Scheme is experiencing a high demand of learners needing tutors. Volunteers are vital to helping eligible migrants and refugees practice English, learn about the Australian way of life and connect to the local community.
