YPRL is seeking a new **Reading Dogs team** to join Thomastown Library. Our Reading Dogs program promotes children’s literacy by having children read aloud to dogs at the library. Our mission is to make reading fun and enjoyable for children so that they become confident and lifelong readers. Reading Dogs are accredited companion animals who volunteer with their owner/handler as a team by facilitating reading sessions. The Volunteer Visitor will provide friendship and companionship through regular one-on-one/or group visits to older people residing in Australian Government Residential Aged Care Facilities and/or one-on-one visits to recipients of Footprints Community Home Care Packages (HCP) who are socially isolated or at risk of social isolation.

As a Bespoke Befriending volunteer, you will provide friendship and companionship to our Home Care Package and Residential Care Clients. Providing friendship and companionship to our Home Care Package and Residential Care recipients. Social visits - chatting and conversations over coffee or tea, short walks. Entertainment - Playing board games, card games and listening to music etc.

The Toy Library needs someone to volunteer on a Friday 2.30 - 5pm The job is helping to sort, check and count toys and put them away on their shelves. The applicant needs to be physically able, they need to have good concentration and attention to detail. We need someone who is available every Friday.

The Library Reception Desk Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA. They provide guidance to members, visitors and those who call us to use the Society’s family history information resources. In this role, volunteers will find themselves assisting a variety of people with their genealogical research, providing them with a great opportunity for growth in their own learning.
