Do you have a dog or pet that is suitable to come with you to our Aged Care home and share some social interaction with our residents? Our residents living at our Wayville Aged Care Home really miss the family pets they had in their family homes. Animals bring great joy to others hearts and the social chit chat and a pat bring smiles and fill hearts. All volunteers must have up to date Influenza vaccinations, the Covid-19 vaccinations and a Police clearance to work in Aged Care.
for Pets of Older Persons (POOPSWA) (Supported by Volunteer Melville!) - Community Services
POOPS WA is an incorporated non-profit association staffed entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers are police-cleared and have a Working with Children Check and provide a range of services including home visits, dog walking and transport to/from vet clinics or boarding kennels. We cater specifically for people over 65 years of age – or palliative-care patients of any age – who have no relatives or friends willing or able to take responsibility for their pets in times of need.
