Inclusion Melbourne is a participant in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS); a national program that aims to enrich the quality of life of older people and enhance their social connectedness. As a volunteer, you will be making a real difference by: • Spending time with participants engaged in shared interest activities • Providing companionship and support • Reducing the social isolation and loneliness experienced by some older people.

Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Please help us get back to the thriving nursery from before the pandemic!

Our Client is well read and loves listening to music, and he would love to spend an hour a fortnight with a volunteer with whom he can chat over a coffee or a gentle walk. Our Club runs a bistro on Thursday and Friday evenings. We also have the kitchen/kiosk running on Saturday game days. The position will involve general kitchen (food preparation and serving) duties and occasional bar work.

Support the frail aged and elderly guests who visit genU’s Day Respite Centre. Assist our guests to take part in leisure activities. By supporting our Respite Program, you are helping our clients to remain living in their own home and increasing their social interactions. Bite sized shifts are available during business hours in a supportive group setting.

From working in the nursery and in our gardens. including the Community Garden, helping with our projects and events to helping in the office, our volunteers give a large amount of time. Our Aged Care residents love to head out on excursions! This rewarding volunteer role will drive our residents on a mini-bus to various locations so they can enjoy the great outdoors.
