Do you like being a welcoming face, meeting people, and giving directions while keeping people safe? The residents living in our modern and vibrant John Wesley Gardens Aged Care Community at Geebung are seeking warm and sincere volunteers to assist in welcoming their weekend visitors.

We’re looking for special Volunteer Visitors with insight into how aged care residents with dementia see and experience the world around them by spending an hour per week or fortnight visiting and forming friendships with individual residents or small groups of residents.

Do you speak Serbian? Then we would love to meet you!! Our client speaks Serbian, but his country of origin is Ukraine. He came to Australia in 2023 with his family. Bring a smile and share stories with our client in an Aged Care in Mount Gravatt. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference to his life, reducing social isolation and improving well-being.

The Open Support Community Companion Program offers one to one phone calls to people experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness. This volunteer role offers companionship and social support based on the Open Support values of Compassion, Dignity, Excellence, Justice and Unity. If you are able to donate your time and passion to support people to connect with community, we'd really love to hear from you!
