Good communication skills are a vital part of being a good dentist or oral health therapist. Dentists and oral health therapists need to be able to communicate well with their patients for many reasons. This is why, as a volunteer helping to prepare our students to eventually interact with real dental patients, you’ll be providing an extremely valuable service to your community.

The question this led us to was: Is it a disadvantage for students whose families can’t afford tutoring, or don’t have the time to help their children with study?

The brave solo refugee Mums who make SchoolKits for Congo also make beautiful buntings from bright African fabrics, and teach other Mums to do the same. We sell them in Australia and return the proceeds to the makers so that they can pay the school fees for their children to be educated. We are looking for stallholders who could add a product to their range, and for representatives who can show buntings to potential retailers and customers.

SchoolKits for Congo seek Student Advocates to invite their own school communities to engage in meaningful and rewarding global giving. Advocates will present the program to decision-makers, show them the positive impact that involvement can have on both givers and receivers, and connect them with the resources necessary to complete the first gift cycle. Advocates may also assist with local publicity for the event. Advocates may be current school students or recent graduates.
