As a Hand Massage and/or Nail Care Volunteer, you will help to provide provide companionship and meaningful engagement for older people in a residential care home. Spend time with residents talking and listening to their stories, while pampering them with a gentle hand massage and simple nail care (such as filing or nail polish).

We are looking for a reliable person to assist us one to two days per week to keeping our Residential Care Home looking its best. Duties may include tidy up of our gardens, pruning, site rubbish pickup, minor repair or maintenance, changing light globes. HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly people living in an aged care home. As a pastoral care volunteer you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

We are looking for a caring individual who can sit and have a chat, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with an elderly person living with dementia in their preferred language. Ideally you will be a fluent German or Slovak speaker.

Share your love of music with our residents at Weekly Concerts and Special Events. We welcome a range of musical styles, from classical, jazz, country, rock'n'roll and popular hits from the 1930's onwards. As you volunteer sing, play and perform, you'll be providing a great live music experience for elderly people living at HammondCare in Daw Park.

Are you creative? Do you have a passion for arts & crafts? Share your love of arts and crafts with residents at HammondCare Aged Care Home in Daw Park. Show off your creative and artistic skills as you assist people to create their own pieces.

Chair exercise group volunteers bring the energy of a fitness workout but guide people with gentle movements, as participants are sitting comfortably in a chair. Perhaps you have a background in fitness, dance, yoga, physio or Pilates and you'd like to lead a small group. You'll be helping older residents in care to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing - and have fun!
