He loves gardening, cricket, dogs, horses and conversation. He has also travelled extensively. Enjoy a cup of tea together, talk about family or go for short walk.

MiCare Aged Care and the Retirement village in Carrum Downs is looking for a friendly individual to contribute as a volunteer at our shop. Our small shop is designed for our Aged Care residents, families, visitors and friends providing a cosy environment for them to buy the things in need close to their homes, or when they come to visit their love ones. We are looking for Volunteer Visitors interested in spending time with individual residents or a small group of residents to give gentle hand massages and apply colour to nails. No experience is necessary, and all products are supplied. 

Elderly people living in Residential Aged Care Homes in St Ives and Manly Vale LGAs would like a volunteer to visit the for around an hour on a weekly or fortnightly basis either chatting over a cuppa, playing board games, reading magazine or books, or going for a walk to a local cafe or park. If you speak another language, such as Tibetan, German, or Serbian etc would be helpful but is not mandatory.

If you enjoy talking to elderly members of our community and you have some spare time, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps you speak Italian, or you would like to practise what you are learning.

Our Aged Care residents love to head out on excursions! This rewarding volunteer role will drive our residents on a mini-bus to various locations so they can enjoy the great outdoors.
