About Port Hacking Open Sailing Club Inc.

WHO ARE WE?
"Port Hacking Open Sailing Club" is the only dinghy Sailing Club located on the picturesque waters of Port Hacking NSW, and was established in 1945 by a group of enthusiastic sailors that wanted to bring the community together and start the healing process following the ravages of World War 2.

The club promotes dinghy sailing for all age groups and is a family orientated, community based, “not for profit” organisation that has been an active part of the Sutherland Shire Community for over 75 years, consisting of a broad membership structure, with club members from as young as 5 years of age to our senior members in their 80’s+.

PHOSC volunteers provide a significant contribution to the local community by promoting dinghy sailing as a safe and affordable family-based community activity.
Even if you're not a sailor, our established team of volunteers at PHOSC will welcome you to the club as we have volunteer roles covering most areas - and we are grateful for any support.

We are always looking for:
• Galley assistants - food preparation and sale
• Race Starter – our race starter (based in the clubhouse) is always looking for assistance in recording boats finish times and co-ordinating race starts and finishes.
• Maintenance – hands on people to assist with maintenance, that like tinkering in the clubhouse or on motorboats and dinghy’s
• Administration - supporting our committee with membership, secretarial and other duties
• On-water - supporting our experienced support boat operators during club racing.
• We can fully train our volunteers in many areas, and for those who want to help us long-term, we will support you to receive additional accredited qualifications (i.e., power boat handling, sailing coaching accreditation etc).
Come and join our great team we look forward to meeting you.
