Listed as vulnerable nationally, there are less than 800 of these birds in South Australia with only 22 breeding pairs found on the Fleurieu Peninsula. There are multiple ways that you can assist to protect these birds. Fleurieu Hoodie Helpers are needed to monitor a given pair of birds on a particular beach and report sightings of bird behaviour.
