A small team of volunteers approx 8 on each shift who are dedicated to caring for the wildlife who live at Kanyana permanently.

Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group, SERAG, is a local group of volunteers who enjoy hands-on caring and restoring health to the A-Class foreshore and bush reserves adjacent to the Swan River Estuary Marine Park on Melville’s river front in Attadale, Alfred Cove and Tompkins Park. Volunteers will weed and/or plant for two hours of a morning, then share a cuppa and cake together (provided) whilst enjoying the beautiful location that they are helping to restore and maintain.

Friends of Gabbiljee are hosting a planting day on Thursday 6 June and are seeking extra helpers to assist.

This groups works in Blackwall Reach Reserve and along the river foreshore at Blackwall Reach Parade, doing restoration and erosion control works. They hold regular workdays and planting days throughout the year between April - September.

The Wildcare Helpline is a telephone referral service operated by volunteers on behalf of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and is based at WA Wildlife in Bibra Lake. Want to help restore our native bushland? Bassendean Preservaton Group (BPG) is a local community bushcare group. We are looking for volunteers to help out at our native plant nursery in Ascot on Wednesday mornings, on a regular basis. Also to help out with bushland plantings on occasional weekend mornings throughout the year, mostly in winter. We plant around the Bassendean area, mostly around the foreshore and wetland areas. You are welcome to come on either Wednesdays, weekends, or both.
