We are currently looking for people who would like to give one to two hours a week or fortnight to spend one-on-one time with a designated client or clients at the respite centre, having conversations, reading, doing activities, and building friendships to combat loneliness.

Hyland House Respite Centre in Petrie is currently looking for volunteers to assist in our various activities with older persons and people with special needs. It’s such a lovely place to volunteer and there is something for everyone!

Wesley Mission Queensland’s Elorac Place Community Centre is looking for volunteer Kids Club Activity Assistants to help set up the Kids Club program and facilitate activities to make it a fun and safe space for those attending the centre on Wednesdays between 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

The Open Support Community Companion Program offers one to one phone calls to people experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness. This volunteer role offers companionship and social support based on the Open Support values of Compassion, Dignity, Excellence, Justice and Unity.
